Salaam Home Past Chiefs Members History Join Us Pictures Contact us

Nobles,

If you are Shriner in good standing and would like to join a unit with a long glorious history, This is a short history and pitch to hopefully spark your interest in the Provost Guard.  You can read the full history by selecting the history button to the left.

Simply put, we are the Police Force of Salaam Shrine, and a marching unit.  We march about twice a year, at the annual Memorial Day Parade in Livingston, and in competition at MASA every September.  In our hay day, we had close to 60 members, including a motorcycle patrol, and a waiting long list.  In 1962, the motorcycle patrol split off and became what is now the Motor Corp.

We meet at 7:30pm on the first Wednesday of every month with the exception of July, August and sometimes September because of MASA.  Most members and their ladies arrive between 7:00-7:30pm as provide appetizers before the meeting and coffee and dessert after.

If you would like to find out more about the Provost Guard, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our next Meeting to meet the members, find out more about our unit and enjoy our usual collation.   Please contact either myself or one of my officers if you plan on attending so we can order the appropriate amount of refreshments, and of course your ladies are always welcome.  If you click on "application for membership", you can print it, fill it out and bring to our next meeting to start the ball rolling.

As an incentive, we will refund the $40.00 membership fee contingent on being an active member for the two years.

Yours in the faith

Rich DiNapoli – Chief
