Eight members of Salaam Temple's Provost Guard formed the original Motor Corp in 1965.  Their vehicles were originally Indian Motorcycles, later they traded to Harley Davidson motorcycles.  There were 12 Harleys and 3 Harley Servecar Trikes.  The Motor Corp functioned as an escort service for the Potentate, visiting dignitaries, and also performed in parades.  As the membership aged the motorcycles were traded in for mini-cars.
       Today there are 20 members who own, maintain, and drive mini cars, 1932 replica roadsters, and antique cars.  We participate in various parades and sponsor an Italian dinner dance at Salaam Temple.  The Motor Corp helps support the Shrines' network of 19 orthopedic children hospitals, 3 burn institutes, and transportation services.  The Motor Corp unit also participates in Salaam Temple call outs and are represented at the Mid Atlantic Shrine Association (MASA) conventions.  We are the recipient of many trophies and plaques for our participation in parades and MASA conventions.  In 1997 the unit performed in 17 parades in New Jersey and one parade in New York City.  The New York City parade was the celebration of  the 125 Th anniversary of the Shriners fellowship and the 75 Th anniversary of the Shriners Hospitals.
