Clown Unit holds Valentines Dinner & Dance!

Wow! The clown unit led by Ill. Sir John Swauger and noble Joseph “Bones” Salamone had an excellent night of fellowship and philanthropic action! Over 125 guests were in attendance on this February 19th evening. Lady Joan Swauger ran the floor and a team of Chefs in the kitchen helped put together an amazing evening. Ill. Sir John Swauger was the MC for the evening. He explained the purposes of Shrinedom and educated all in attendance on what the Shriners Creed stands for. John also made sure plenty of materials about the hospitals could be easily located.

Upon entry to the evening, all ladies received a Red Rose from Lady Joan and all guests had assigned seating. We also had a table with information about how to become a Shriner. A mini silent auction was held regarding signed sporting memorabilia. Fellow clown unit member Joseph “Bones” Salamone ran the kitchen and organized volunteers! A mixture of youth musicians playing various instruments and orchestral tunes were present including a high school Pianist from Paramus Catholic. The Kitchen team on this special evening, prepared chef’s level meals! Eggplant, Salmon, and Filet Mignon just to name a few!

Each table had a Shrine Representative to help answer questions and explain what Shriners do! A special thanks to the boys of Clifton Order of DeMolay who helped with waitering! These guys are pros!! Great job guys! The majority of the crowd were Non-Masons that had a chance to see what we are all about! The evening concluded with rave reviews to the team. Job well done nobles!
