It was a great time. The Potentates ball of the Mother temple took place on Saturday, September 24, 2022. It was a clear evening in New York City. The city was abuzz with its normal East Side weekend activity. Salaam was represented by a table of nobles to celebrate this special occasion of 150 Years of Shrinedom. Mecca lays claim to the founding Temple of Shriners International. Yes, it all started in New York City at the knickerbocker club back in 1872 and has grown into an organization representative of close to 200 Temples now in existence worldwide! Our main philanthropy of the hospitals for children came along 50 years later, and it too celebrates 100 years of giving this year.
Illustrious Sir Zachary Ostrow serves as Potentate during this anniversary year and he and his nobles did a wonderful job putting together the events that have surrounded this year-long anniversary celebration. On hand were elected officials of the Imperial Divan including ILL. Sir Kenny Craven the Imperial Potentate and Ill. Sir Kevin Costello the Imperial Oriental Guide. Both were accompanied by their ladies.
